Susman Godfrey Named Class Action Practice Group of the Year by Law360 for the Third Time

Susman Godfrey has been recognized for its class action litigation work with Law360’s annual Class Action Practice Group of the Year award. Recognized for work on both sides of the “v,” lawyers at the firm secured major wins in class action litigation in 2023.

“We have a really great breadth and depth of experience,” said partner Krysta Pachman in an interview with Law360 about the recognition. Furthermore, the firm is repeatedly selected to serve as leaders on major MDLs, “I think courts recognize [our experience], and Susman Godfrey has done really well in terms of being appointed to leadership positions by courts.”

In 2023 the firm brought settlement deals in the ongoing massive In LIBOR Antitrust Litigation from $590 to just over $780 million, securing deals with The Norinchukin Bank, Societe Generale, Rabobank UA, Lloyds Banking Group PLC and Royal Bank of Canada. The firm also secured class certification for its clients in the widely followed class action, Sunday Ticket Antitrust Litigation. “We are very much looking forward to the trial of the case,” said partner Marc Seltzer to Law360 of the NFL class action, which is set for trial in mid-2024.

On the defense side, the firm continues to represent clients such as Chevron and Walmart in major class actions and just a few months ago, on behalf of Westlake Chemical, defeated a class certification motion by plaintiffs in an antitrust class action. relating to the production and sale of Caustic Soda in the United States. Susman Godfrey previously was named Class Action Practice Group of the Year by Law360 in both 2018 and 2017. In addition, National Law Journal’s Elite Trial Lawyers recognized Susman Godfrey as Class Action Firm of the Year in 2020
